COUCH to 5K 2019

YOU CAN RUN - from standing still to running strong!

When: Our next programme start on Thursday 10th January 2019 – all are welcome no matter what level of fitness!

Where: In the Arc Gym within Glasgow Caledonian University (opposite Buchanan Bus Station)

Cost : Your first club run with the club is FREE. Thereafter you can pay on a run-by-run basis £1 a go. However, we hope you that you will join the club and become a member of the GFR community. Club membership is £16 /concession £10 (students/unwaged) until August 2019. This allows you to run with us as many times as you want and join us on all club runs and social events. GFR’s successful Couch to 5K programme begins with gentle walking, then introduces a combination of walk/jog sessions,  steadily increasing the distance as your strength and confidence grows. All running will be at your own pace to give you the confidence in your own ability to be able to run a 5k by the end of the programme. No previous experience is required, all we ask is that you’re medically fit and willing to try. A decent pair of trainers will  help too!

GFR will support you with 2 club runs each week led by our qualified jog leaders and coaches. You’ll have the support and encouragement of your peers in the group and our friendly and experienced jog leaders.

The course takes place on Thursdays evenings at 18:15 and Sunday mornings at 10.30 throughout January and February. Sessions last approximately 1 hour. We meet at The Arc Gym at Glasgow Caledonian University – easily accessible from the city and full changing facilities and lockers are available.
