To help celebrate this year’s LGBT History Month, Glasgow FrontRunners are hosting their third annual Rainbow Run on Sunday 16th February at 11am from GCU Arc Gym. With two successful open day Rainbow Runs previously, this year we are making it a bigger and brighter affair!
This Sunday Event is a big Community Running Club Open Day, with friends, new runners, beginners – whatever, all welcome. In this Commonwealth Games year, as a Games Legacy for Glasgow Partner we want to make getting involved in sport a real possibility for Glaswegians – and convince ‘non-runners’ that it’s really not as bad as you may think!
Whilst not a race we will still have Jog Leaders on duty to guide you safely along our trusted 5km, 7.5km and 10km canal running routes – you decide on what you feel you are up for on the day. The pace will be generally relaxed with the 5k route being suitable for jog/walkers.
To create the Rainbow, we ask everyone to wear a suitably coloured top, the colours will be allocated according to your month of birth:
To complete the day, we will arrange some post-run snacks and hopefully goody bags, plus there’ll be a chance to find out more about the club.
Come along and be part of this visually stunning community event organised by Glasgow’s LGBT Running Club, Glasgow FrontRunners. This is going to be a feast for the eyes, as all the colours of the rainbow travel along the canal set against the beautiful backdrop of the Glasgow skyline. You can choose whether to walk, jog or run along the 5k, 7.5k or 10k routes. All that we ask is that we stay in colour order long enough for a good photograph!
