We’re starting to get back into race season and our calendar of club supported races is filling up nicely.
Two of our key upcoming races are the Bupa Great Glasgow 10k (for women) and the Mens Health Forum 10k (for men). These are excellent supportive Community Races for targetting as your first 10k run. As such, we are hoping to ensure that all our members have the opportunity to train for these races if they choose to enter them.
So, to facilitate – and as the nights are now getting lighter, we are making a couple of changes to our running groups.
From April, on Thursday nights we will have:
Our Sundays are also continuing with 2 jog leaders, meaning depending on the numbers and abilities of runners we can have one or two appropriate runs. As ever, Sundays will incorporate a bit more varied training.
It’s recommended that if you are training for a 10k race that at least one additional training session is undertaken out with the two weekly club runs. Our jog leaders can advise you and help put together a suitable training programme.
