GLASGOW FRONTRUNNERS’ EQUITY FUND
Glasgow Frontrunners would not want anybody suffering significant financial hardship to be prevented from participating in running. To reduce the likelihood of this, a limited equity fund has been established, in order to cover the costs of such items as membership fees, race fees and essential running kit.
The fund can be accessed by completing the Google Form or approaching a committee member in confidence.
The fund subcommittee will jointly make a decision by reviewing each case in the following areas:
The runner’s financial circumstances (e.g. low income, student, unemployed, or on benefits due to disability or health)
The runners’ membership, participation and involvement in the club
Successful applications are dependent on there being sufficient funds available and the reason for application
Applications are limited to £100 in a membership year but higher applications can be considered at the discretion of the Club President and Club Treasurer in exceptional circumstances
Repeated applications in a short time period may be turned down unless personal circumstances have considerably deteriorated. Your application will be reviewed by members of the GFR Equity Fund subcommittee who will be in touch via email to share the outcome with you. The subcommittee aims to respond to all applications within two weeks from the date of application. If you require a response sooner, please highlight this in the Form.
The decision made by the subcommittee is final. GFR reserves the right to distribute any funds as deemed appropriate. Appeals are not possible. In some circumstances the subcommittee may ask for additional documentation to support a request.
For more information please see the fund flowchart for guidance or contact a committee member.
