Jo Jeffreys reflects on the year that was, a year like no other!

Glasgow FrontRunners (GFR) are excited to be shortlisted as finalists in the Sports Person/Group Category of The Proud Scotland Awards 2020.

Glasgow FrontRunners are delighted to announce that our virtual running event, HOMErun, which replaced our annual race, OUTrun has raised over £2,000 for the Terrence Higgins Trust (Scotland).

Following an exciting weekend of running, Glasgow FrontRunners are excited to announce the winners of our various awards from this years HOMErun event.

On this day, a decade ago, an intrepid sextet of runners set off on a trial jog. Who would have thought GFR would have grown into such an incredible community for the LGBTQI+ community and our allies.

No high fives, a ban on spitting and potentially slightly longer courses in order to optimise space at start and finish areas all form part of new plans for the return of parkrun.

The 2020 London Marathon will involve only elite athletes, with 45,000 'mass-event' runners unable to take part because of coronavirus concerns.

GFR have made the sad (but sensible) decision to formally cancel our Run Calendar for the rest of the year.

Glasgow Frontrunners, as an LGBTQI+ supportive running club, has always worked towards the goal of every individual in sport being welcomed and included - regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, colour, race, religion, ability or nationality.

Due to the ongoing global COVID-19 Pandemic, the GFR committee have made the difficult decision to cancel formal arrangements for our planned trip to Islay on 1st August 2020.
